ABOUT YAVANNA

Yavanna is an experienced speech pathologist and has worked in different settings including health, education, Not for Profit and private practice in Queensland, New South Wales and in the United Kingdom. Yavanna is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and is a member of Speech Pathology Australia. She is qualified to assess and treat difficulties in speech, communication, stuttering, and language and literacy in both children and adults.

Yavanna is also a qualified Chartered Accountant and has an interest in developing soft skills in the workplace.  In addition to private practice work, Yavanna works for an organisation who supports children and adolescents who have complex mental health needs.

Yavanna is an accredited facilitator of the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®). This is an evidenced based approach to improving relationship skills. It is suitable for adolescents and adults who may have challenges with social communication, or difficulties making and keeping friends. She is also an accredited facilitator for the Circle of Security – Parenting, Circle of Security – Parenting (Classroom), NBITM – Whole Brain Thinking, and Think on Your Feet® programs.

Yavanna compliments her colleagues at The Good Group Clinic by having a holistic approach to each person she assesses and treats.  Yavanna is an advocate for social inclusion and diversity affirming practices particularly for children and adults with communication, language learning needs, and other neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASD and ADHD.
