ADULT PSYCHIATRY

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor with specialised training in mental health. They assess and diagnose mental health conditions such as Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, depression, anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Eating Disorders, stress disorders, trauma, and more.

Our general adult psychiatrists,

Dr Geraldine Goodison, Dr Sean Tracey and Dr Annie Shek, are qualified to prescribe medication as well as other evidence-based treatments to help you understand and manage your mental health and improve your quality of life.

Our child and adolescent psychiatrist, Dr Renee Denham, is qualified to prescribe medication, as well other evidence-based treatments, such as talking and play-based therapies, to help her young patients cope with challenges, improve their health and wellbeing, and to, ultimately, thrive.

CHILD & ADOLESCENT
PSYCHIATRY

A child and adolescent psychiatrist is a doctor who helps young people with their mental health. They can diagnose, treat, and prevent disorders that affect the emotions, thoughts, and behaviours of children and teens. They also work with families and schools to support the wellbeing of young people.

PSYCHOLOGY

A psychologist is an expert in human behavior, cognition, and emotion. They can help people to manage a variety of issues, such as:

  • mental health disorders

  • relationship problems, family conflicts, or parenting challenges

  • learning difficulties, attention problems, or behavioural issues

  • self-esteem, motivation, or personal growth

  • coping with chronic illness, pain or disability

  • grief, loss, or bereavement

Our registered psychologist, Megan Macoun (formerly Callow), is trained and skilled in using evidence-based techniques to assess and treat mental health conditions, helping individuals, couples, and families to understand and better manage their emotions, to cope with life’s challenges, and to make positive behavioural changes. Psychologists play an important role in providing comprehensive mental health care and promoting overall wellbeing.

Our Occupational Therapist, 

Dr Carina Capra, is trained to use a variety of tools and approaches, such as cognitive assessments and sensory strategies to help people to learn skills so they can lead meaningful and productive lives and to, ultimately, reach their full potential.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

An Occupational Therapist is an allied health professional who helps people of all ages to develop, recover and maintain participation in meaningful activities that they are unable or limited in doing due to physical, emotional, developmental, or social challenges. They focus on helping people improve their physical, cognitive, and motor skills, as well as their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.

SPEECH PATHOLOGY

Speech Pathologists are trained allied health professionals who specialise in assessing, diagnosing and treating communication conditions. Speech Pathologists can help with managing speech, language, literacy, fluency, voice, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing.

Our Speech Pathologist, Yavanna Grogan, is skilled in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech and language difficulties in individuals of all ages. Speech therapy can help individuals to communicate their thoughts and feelings more effectively, and to build meaningful relationships.

Our Dietitian, Leah Fowler, is trained to provide dietary treatment to people of all ages, and to develop individual nutrition plans tailored to the individual needs of her clients. This evidence-based advice contributes to an improvement in mental and physical health.

DIETETICS

A dietitian is an allied health professional who has specialised knowledge about food and nutrition. They are skilled in assessing, diagnosing and treating a range of dietary and nutrition conditions, and to promote general health and wellbeing.

Our multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, and a psychologist, occupational therapist, speech pathologist, and dietitian. A number of our clinicians see children and adolescents, and their families. All clinicians at The Good Group Clinic have an interest in working with individuals with neurodivergence.

Dr Goodison has a special interest in working with people navigating the challenges of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, while helping them to build self-compassion and to recognise and feel proud of their strengths.

DR SEAN TRACEY

ADULT PSYCHIATRIST

Dr Tracey has experience across all areas of general adult psychiatry, including Old Age Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Acute/Emergency Psychiatry. He has a particular interest in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in adults, as well as mood and anxiety disorders.

DR ANNIE SHEK

ADULT PSYCHIATRIST

Dr Shek has a special interest in helping patients with Developmental Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has considerable experience with the Consultation Liaison framework and will work with GPs, Allied Health Professionals and carers to achieve the best outcome for her patients.

MEGAN MACOUN

PSYCHOLOGIST

Megan is a registered psychologist passionate about teaching people the skills to cope effectively when things in life don't go as planned. She is known for creating an open, non-judgemental and warm space to help her clients to feel at ease when discussing their difficulties.

Carina has a particular interest in neurodevelopmental psychiatry and using behavioural strategies to support functional outcomes. She aims to enable children, youth and families to live satisfying and meaningful lives, regaining a sense of achievement, self-esteem and well-being.

Yavanna is an advocate for social inclusion and diversity affirming practices particularly for children and adults with communication, language learning needs, and other neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

LEAH FOWLER

DIETITIAN

Leah is passionate about personalised nutrition and the importance of diet in mental health through all stages of life. She is particularly interested in mental health and the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating, weight and body image concerns, gastrointestinal conditions, and nutritional deficiencies. Leah empowers her clients to nourish themselves in a way that supports their health and wellbeing.
